FACE OF HARVEST will be hosting the Horn of Africa Famine Benefit Concert to support its response to the drought and emergency food and medical crisis in the ‘Horn of Africa’ (East Africa). FACE OF HARVEST has selected the theme of a?A Truthful Witness Saves Livesa? in that we feel an obligation to truthfully bring to light the plight of an estimated 11 million people across the Horn of Africa in dire need of humanitarian assistance due to a deadly combination of drought, escalating food prices and armed conflict.

Among the most vulnerable to the drought and famine are 2 million children under the age of five in Somalia, Kenya, Ethiopia and Djibouti. Malnutrition rates are at critical levels as the region suffers its worst dry spell in almost 60 years, compounded by rising food prices. The United Nations has declared famine in five regions of Somalia, including in camps for displaced families. In these famine zones, almost 10% of the children under age 5 die every 3 months (Source: UNICEF).

The benefit concert will feature multiple artists and humanitarian advocates who will address the current crisis taking place in the ‘Horn of Africa. Featured artists and speakers will include (but are not limited to):

Ntambo & African Band, Recording Artist & Founder of African Night of Worship, Maryland, USA
Elva, Recording Artist, FOH Co-Founder, California, USA.
Elva Diaz, Recording Artist, Arizona, USA
DJ Joash Okare, NxT LvL Music, New Jersey, USA
